Miss Eligibility Requirements:
High School requirements (or GED) by June 23rd, 2008
Between the ages of 17 (as of February 2nd, 2008) and 24 (before December 31st, 2008)
US Citizen, Female, and never married or pregnant
For at least six months prior to the pageant, contestant must be EITHER:
-a resident of the greater Tucson area
-OR a registered full time student in a Tucson area school
-OR employed full time (minimum of 32 hours per week) in the
greater Tucson area
-OR employed part time (minimum 16 hours per week) and
attend school part time (minimum 6 credit hours).
In 1989, the Miss America Organization founded the “platformâ€, which requires each contestant to choose an issue about which she cares deeply and that she will serve during her year.
In addition to choosing a personal platform issue, all Miss America local, state, and national contestants are required to participate in mandatory volunteer work for the Children's Miracle Network. Please visit the Miss America 4 Kids website for more information on this National Platform.As a committment to our national charity, all Miss Tucson Valley contestants are asked to raise $100 in donations for the Children's Miracle Network.
Teen Contestants Eligibility:
Between the ages of 13 and 17 (as of February 2nd, 2008) and no higher than a junior in high school at the time of the Miss Tucson Valley's Outstanding Teen Pageant.
US Citizen, Female, and never married or pregnant
For at least six months prior to the pageant, contestant must be EITHER:
- a resident of the greater Tucson area
-OR a student in a Tucson area Junior or High School
All Miss Tucson Valley's Outstanding Teen contestants will be asked to pay a $100 entry fee.
IMPORTANT DATES
-Registration Deadline January 14th, 2008
-Talent Selection Deadline January 14th, 2008
-Orientation to be held January 19th, 2008
-ALL paperwork must be postmarked or submitted by January 21st, 2008.
