Miss East Valley Contestants
This pageant is open to all greater Phoenix area* residents or students who meet the criteria below.
-High School graduate (or G.E.D.) by June 21, 2008
-Aged 17 (by November 17th, 2007) to 24 (before December 31, 2008)
-U.S. Citizen, Female, never been married or pregnant.
-For at least six months prior to the pageant, contestant must be EITHER:
a resident
OR a registered full-time student
OR employed full time (minimum 32 hours per week)
OR employed part-time (minimum 16 hours per week) and
attend school part-time (minimum 6 credits)
Judging Criteria
Talent- 35%
Interview- 25%
Evening Wear- 20%
Swimwear- 15%
On-Stage Question- 5%
In 1989, the Miss America Organization founded the “platform”, which requires each contestant to choose an issue about which she cares deeply and that she will serve during her year.
In addition to choosing a personal platform issue, all Miss America local, state, and national contestants are required to participate in mandatory volunteer work for the Children's Miracle Network. Please visit the Miss America 4 Kids website for more information on this National Platform.
As a committment to our national charity, all Miss East Valley contestants are asked to raise $100 in donations for the Children's Miracle Network.
Miss East Valley's Outstanding Teen Contestants
This pageant is open to all greater Phoenix area* residents or students who meet the criteria below.
Aged 13 (by November 17th, 2007) to 17 (before August 31, 2008)
No more than a Junior in High School
U.S. Citizen, Female, never been married or pregnant
Judging Criteria
Talent (35%)
Private Interview (35%)
Evening Wear (15%)
Activewear (10%)
On-stage Question (5%)
In 1989, the Miss America Organization founded the “platform”, which requires each contestant to choose an issue about which she cares deeply and that she will serve during her year. The Miss America's Outstanding Teen program continues this rich tradition.
All Miss East Valley's Outstanding Teen contestants will be asked to pay a $100 entry fee to help with operations expenses.
